Tash with an acquired spinal cord injury and Maria, neurodivergent, have conversations with each other and invited guests. The conversations range from awkward, challenging, personal and intimate. These guests are people who have experience with physical and/or cognitive mixed abilities. Subjects range from public treatment, misdiagnosis, and employment to relationships, sexual preference and monogamy (just to name a few). The Mixed Crips believe the need for discussion will spread awareness and create camaraderie in the greater community. So get a glass and lets make some lemonade!

Zachary Weeks is an award-winning accessibility strategist, speaker, and consultant with deep roots in disability advocacy and inclusive design. As a proud Albertan and wheelchair user, Zachary brings both lived experience and professional insight to every project, working closely with organizations, businesses, and governments to improve access and equity across Canada.
Recognized as a trusted voice in the disability community and accessibility space, Zachary was brought on as a consultant for CBC's Push, a groundbreaking unscripted series that explores the lives of Canadians with disabilities.
His involvement helped shape the
show's approach to authentic and respectful representation, while also offering audiences a candid, lived perspective on disability.
His broader work includes conducting accessibility audits, advising on inclusive policy development, and co-leading national initiatives like the Equity-Centered Co-Design Inclusive Housing project with the University of Alberta. Zachary has partnered with major institutions, events, and media campaigns - always centering the voices and needs of people with disabilities.
Known for his relatable communication style and practical, people-first solutions, Zachary is passionate about reshaping narratives and creating inclusive systems. He's excited to contribute his insight and experience to this important series.

Barry Lasko
TALK TO ME It is hard to miss Barry with his big beard and even bigger personality! Barry has arrived as his “good vibes only” motto and attitude are quick to spread. Now at 56, a resident of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Barry’s room is a collection of his creative endeavours – artwork made at Camp, a keyboard to play music, and all the technology tools he needs for writing books, poetry, and performances. Although Barry is experiencing life in a wheelchair, he enjoys challenging himself and people’s perceptions of what individuals experiencing disability can achieve in their lives. Humble as he is, Barry is a published author, local performer in the Listen To Dis’ Voice ensemble, musician, and board member of the first and only disability arts organization that is led by people experiencing disability. I’m a social person. I like having deep conversations; when I speak, I speak from my heart,” He’s not just the comic relief or someone to wax philosophical with; he’s a teacher and a friend to many.“Barry makes everyone feel welcome in his presence, and everyone loves to be around him”
Shaylee Rosnes
Shaylee is BACK is an LTD’ Artist and Administrative Associate and Arts Programmer with Listen to Dis’ Community Arts Organization. She graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2022 and hopes to use that training in future theatre projects.
Shaylee is an actor in both The Dripping Honeys [LTD’ music ensemble] and The Other Ordinary [LTD’s theatre company]. Most recently, she has appeared in the Dripping Honey’s productions Bits & Pieces of Dis’ & Dat which toured across the province in 2023 and 2024. She is also the monologist in the annual “Not Just Christmas” concert which is performed at care and seniors’ homes in Regina and surrounding areas, in addition to the annual public concert at Darke Hall. And finally, she was cast in a staged read of award-winning playwright Kelley Jo Burke’s new work “Rigby” last year.
For fun, Shaylee enjoys soft fluffy animals, music, and time spent with loved ones.
Bryan Smith
Bryan has served as the community engagement specialist for Chip and Dale Homes for the past 5 years.
Prior to that, Bryan studied history at the University of Regina with expertise in First Nations. Bryan has spent time advocating for persons with disabilities all around Saskatchewan. With time spent at the university of Regina Helping build modern bathrooms and elevators, while working at such influential organizations like Chip and Dale Homes, Special Olympics Saskatchewan, and Cerebral Palsy Saskatchewan.
In his spare time, Bryan enjoys spending time with family and loved ones and playing video games.
Nicole Bear
Born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan, Nicole (friends call her Nic), is an actor with an obsession for musicals! Having studied at the University of Regina for journalism and theatre acting, her main credits come from working with theatre companies, such as Listen to Dis Community Arts, Organization, and Sterling Productions. This crazy cat lady will always keep you guessing!

The Mixed Crips chat with Shiloh about her time as a caregiver, advocate and daughter to her mother with early onset dementia. The battles she has encountered and how she has had to move as a result.
Shiloh Fulford is a 41-year-old community support worker based in oskâna kâ-asastêki (Regina), in Treaty 4 territory. She's a wife, a mom to two teenagers—and four cats—and a caregiver for her own mom, who’s living with advanced, early-onset Alzheimer’s in a public care institution. Shiloh works with Creative Options Regina and is also studying Indigenous Social Work at First Nations University.
She’s deeply passionate about human rights and social justice—especially when it comes to 2SLGBTQ+ and disability rights—and volunteers with Righting Relations, a grassroots movement of educators and organizers working toward decolonization and radical social change across Turtle Island. When she’s not juggling all of that, Shiloh loves music, board games, true crime docs, and gathering loved ones around the table for good food and meaningful connection.

I enjoy sharing my experiences with the youth and community to give them the opportunities I did not have. I am a very loud and talkative individual and have never been scared to be an open book.I currently work and live out of Herbert, SK.

Andrea (Andy) Junior is a 41-year-old (at the time of the recording, 42 at the time of release) quadriplegic who’s now been sitting longer than she ever stood, thanks to a car accident that rudely ended her vertical lifestyle at 15.
She mostly has her life together. By day, she’s a freelance graphic and web designer under Built With Sticks - a name inspired by the pencils strapped to her hands that help her type.
But when she’s not pushing pixels, she’s pushing her luck, burning through her nine lives and collecting all the firsthand experience needed to talk about the chaotic reality of having a spinal cord injury in the hospital.

Despite facing unimaginable challenges from birth, Bella’s strength and determination not only defied the odds but also helped advance medical understanding, paving the way for better care for future children. Her courage in the face of adversity and her ability to bring joy and hope to others continues to resonate deeply, even after her passing in 2024 at just 10 years old.

Brittany a resilient individual who, at the age of 13, became a t6 paraplegic following a snowmobile accident. After many years of feeling insecure and unworthy as a person with a disability, Brittney flipped her perspective and now sees her disability as her greatest asset. She has channelled her strength into creating the "Empowered Para" YouTube channel, dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities. Through her content, Brittney inspires others to overcome challenges, fostering a community of resilience and encouragement. Brittney lives in Edmonton with her husband and 2 kids.
